Dr. Meaghan Lewis
About Me
I am a clinical psychologist licensed at the doctoral level in Oregon. I specialize in providing the most up to date interventions supported by research. I earned my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Western Michigan University where I was trained in evidence-based interventions. I completed my pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship within the VA Health Care System where I was trained in and researched health service utilization of the gold-standard treatments for PTSD and substance use. I have conducted and published peer-reviewed research with experts in the field. I have particular expertise in acceptance and mindfulness based psychotherapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy as well as interventions to treat PTSD and substance use disorder.

As a psychologist, my goal is to help you see results quickly and make lasting improvements. My approach to psychotherapy is both compassionate and empirically driven, meaning I ground my treatment recommendations in the best available research evidence and tailor them to fit your needs. I work together with my clients to provide the treatments that research says work and to help you function better now. While I am a generalist, I am particularly interested in working with survivors of sexual assault/trauma, women's mental health/gender equity concerns, co-occurring PTSD and substance use disorders, anxiety/depression, and obsessive compulsive disorder. I am committed to anti-racist practice, women's empowerment, and welcome clients from all backgrounds. I view treatment as a collaborative process and would love to work with you to create meaningful and lasting changes.

Given the COVID-19 pandemic, I am currently offering only telehealth therapy to individuals 18 or older. Please give me a call, send an email, or drop a note in the contact box below to discuss. I am also available for consultation, supervision, and may expand my services out to include assessment in the future. I would be delighted to work with you. Together, we will address sources of adversity in your life and improve your functioning in a way that best aligns with your values.
