My Approach
Finding a psychologist who is the right fit for your needs is one of the first and most important decisions you can make. My approach to psychotherapy may differ from prior providers you have worked with in that I specialize in providing evidence-based psychotherapies. I believe that in order to alleviate psychological difficulties, it is my duty to offer my clients interventions that are safe, effective, and time-limited.

My training background and theoretical orientation are behavioral and empirically-informed. I conceptualize the source of any presenting problem as being rooted in the environment - behavior that we can observe, measure, and shape to improve your overall quality of life. I consider psychotherapy a scientific process and help my clients to self-monitor their therapeutic progress through tracking your symptoms each week using validated measures. In addition, part of our work involves completion of therapy homework outside of session to help promote changes beyond the therapeutic context.

I am trained in contemporary acceptance and mindfulness based psychotherapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I was also trained by experts in the field in the delivery of trauma-focused interventions including Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD as well as Motivational Interviewing to treat substance use and other behaviors you may be interested in changing.

I am open to working with clients interested in addressing a variety of presenting problems. However, I am best trained to help trauma survivors manage symptoms of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance use. I am also interested in helping individuals address standalone or co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, OCD, and psychosocial/relational stressors.
